Fun race

I am thinking about putting together a Weasel fun race. Basically two tall poles, and just pure fun racing back and forth with multiple planes up at a time. No matrix, no real winner, no money to participate, just pure slope fun with a little competition. A "catch me if you can" flying attitude. I posted this up already on the FB BAMF site, but I wanted to make sure I posted one here as well. It will be most likely held at Coyote Hills park due to the big space and easy retrieval of downed aircraft.
Let me know if you guys are interested?
Thanks!
Jeremy

How about similar sized flying wings? I don't have a Weasel and don't care to own one, but have some older small wings that need a new battery and back to life. :)

Sure, but I think it would be a bit unfair if someone was flying a JW vs a Weasel. I think the JW would do way more damage to the Weasel. I was just trying to keep it all close to the same ship so it would be nice close racing without huge damage. We could even have a JW race, those would be way more robust, however they are much harder to build then the Weasel hence why I decided the Weasel would be a good choice.

As far as a date, no not yet. I am still working on trying to get the poles for it.

The FB site For BAMF can be found by searching on FB for Bay Area Model Flyers. I cannot get FB on this work computer, sorry.

Thanks Jeremy,

FB = Face Book, now I get it.

Can one search or even read much FB content without signing up?
(I don't do Face Book out of concern for their data and privacy practices).

All the best,
Konrad

We just used some bamboo poles or sticks for the So Cal fun races. Nothing fancy needed!

The last time I bought bamboo poles was from my local hardware/lumberyard. It was 15 years ago but Cole Hardware in S.F. had these.

Ok, so I found these fantastic poles to use. They are 20' long and collapse! They are called Wonderpoles for fishing. I opened it up to the full 20' and they stay pretty straight up unlike pvc piping, plus they are like 10x easier to carry.
Get your Weasel's ready!

We had a fun time at the Weasel pole dance. LOL. As a matter of fact, it was so windy, once the Weasel's stopped flying so much, other slopers came out with the molded ships to do some laps! We all had a blast. It was a good change up to our normal routine. Fun fun.
