FrSky XJT Lite External Module

PaulG

User
Guys,

I love my X9 Lite transmitter. The form factor and weight is awesome in the hand with a smaller size that fits nicely into my backpack.

I was hoping the XJT Lite module would fix the one shortcoming and allow me to bind to my tiny whoops in D8 mode abut no luck. I can get D8 mode to show on the transmitter but it simply refuses to bind with any of my D8 receivers.

Anyone have any insights on this as I hate to have to carry two separate transmitters?

Thanks,
Paul

Sorry Paul, I don't they they support D8. The firmware had a bug where they failed to remove the D8 option from the menu, but it never had it as it is not legal to sell in the EU with D8. I think you could hack together an XJT module to connect in the back module bay, then you would be good to go.:)

I have an X9 lite ACCESS and an external XJT Lite module.
Using the internal module, I can select ACCESS and ACCST D16.
Using the Frsky XJT Lite external module, I can select D8, D16, and LR12. I have 3 planes with V8 receivers in D8 mode. Works great.
But I am using it in the USA. Can't tell about EU.

Thanks for the reply Wayne, that makes sense. I am just glad to finally understand why it would not work. That would be a great hack to figure out how to wire up an old XJT module to the JR bay.

I remember having trouble binding the XJT Lite module to my V8 RXs. But Wayne suggested to bind them as D-series receivers using the included jumpers and following the instructions for D-series receivers, not as V8 receivers. It worked for me.
