FrSky USB Linker for ESC configuration

Waid Reynolds

New User
I'm trying to use BLHeli32Suite to configure a FrSky FrESC32_80A ESC connected to a USB port on my Windows PC via a FrSky USB Linker V2. The suite is unable to connect. I've read all the discussions about connecting the suite to the newer Neuron ESCs which are similar. I haven't been able to discern whether or not the motor must be connected to the ESC. I have the battery connected. Connecting the motor would require removing it from the glider. I prefer to avoid that. The subpar FrSky instructions for this older ESC don't mention whether or not the battery and/or motor must be connected. I assumed the battery would have to be connected since the USB Linker does not provide power to the ESC. I see that the instructions for the Neurons state that a "power supply" is required. The motor connection is the mystery. Can anyone advise me?

I too am having trouble linking my Mac desktop to my Frsky Neuron ESC using the linker as described in the vids. I have also tried it using my wife's PC (Windows) to no avail.
Same problem w both computers, the little tab or option window at bottom of blheli32 does NOT show an option to "port" to. I have no idea where to begin. I have looked for drivers but no idea what im doing really.
Are you having the same issue, Waid?

I'm considering returning the Neuron ESC to Aloft either for credit or for them to program it for me. :/
