FrSky support issue

I don't know if anyone else feels the same as I do.. But !! I feel as though FrSky has built and sold the X12s and then forgot about any kind of support as far as parts go.. A couple of months after purchasing the radio at my LHS here in Canada.. the charging board burned out.. I don't expect Aloft to support my warrenty since I did not buy from them.. so I contacted FrSky directly.. And got no reply.. I would have purchased the replacement part my self.. If the parts had been available..

I love my X9D+ and my X12S... but how can I support the radio as being good if there is no support on the part of FrSky to support the end user for replacement parts..

Perhaps you should contact Aloft anyway. They are the only repair facility in North America I believe. If you can get along without the 12X, I'd send it in for repair. Why not send them an Email?

I have already fixed the problem with an after market board and a much better battery.. Just trying to point out that FrSky has basically left the 12S users out in the cold for replacement parts..

That may or may not be so. I see a lot of parts support for the Fr Sky radio here at Aloft. They may not be supporting some of the radio sub systems for liability issues, such as the type certification on the RF board. And for the charger board they may fear liability as a result of lipo fires.

I will say that Aloft and Fr Sky are much better at supplying DIY repair parts than say Spektrum (Horizon Hobbies).

So to help the DIY repair folks how did you repair it? Please supply P/N and vendors.

I'm curious what your fix was also.

If we do not have a radio part in stock, we will do our best to get it for you. I don't care if you bought it somewhere else. We have pretty much every part of every radio that FrSky offers. When a new radio rolls out it is a little hard to get the parts, so we typically pull one apart should the need arise. This is a little painful with the expensive radios, but it is the right thing to do to keep our customer up and flying.

Anyhow, we will be adding a lot more radio parts to the site in the near future. Just a matter of getting them added to the database.

I would say the issue is more of a dealer problem then anything. It's tough for a small shop to offer spare parts if they don't have much call for them.

There is no liability in a NiCad charger board in the radio.. nor is there in things like trim switches.. neither of which I have seen available as yet.. A simple thing like a trim switch could be a big problem at the begining of a flying season and up here ,, that is short enough as is..

That is a No Brainer.. That is why I like the FrSky.. with those people you have to send the whole radio back for a trim switch.. with FrSky... you need only know how to use a screw driver without hurting yourself..

Please refer to my post in " Horus Battery " so that I don't over dupilcate my posts

As much as I appreciate the gesture Wayne.. it would not be fair to you or your business to destroy a sell able item for a part.. that is not your responsibility to do that... That is why this thread.. A wake up call to FrSky.. to give the end user more support.. mostly by supplying you with the parts to distribute to the end user.. I bought my first X9D+ from you at Toleo.. and then ordered a second backup from you a year later , along with numerous Rx's.. so yes you have gotten a majority of my purchases ..

The FrSky dealer up here is not small by any means.. they are a nation wide chain.. They just don't offer repair or warrenty service.. and don't have a supply of spare parts for any of the radio's..
