Does anyone know if this sensor will work with a Lithium Ion battery that does not have a balance lead. It would have to be connected via a JR style connector. I am using a Fromeco 5200 mAh ReLion battery.
So which voltage sensor it the correct one to use with the RX8R receiver ?Don't think that receiver or the X8R has the AIN2 port needed for this sensor. Sorry. Most of the other receivers do offer this 1 wire port. In the manual it will say something like:
Voltage Measurement Range via AIN2 (External device): 0-3.3V
No, but the FBVS is.The FLVS sensor is simply a voltage divider.
I know that he only has a power plug, but I would make a parallel connection from the power plug to the MLVSS. Unless that would create ground loop issues. But since this would require an FBVS (or your divider circuit) anyway, there would already be some separation.Sorry the FBVS.
Yes you could use the MLVSS but you would need to plug it into the balance connector and he said he did not have or want to do that.
How is that 2s? The Fromeco has only a JR plug (2-lead), i.e. 1s. See here: https://fromeco-scale-avionics-llc.myshopify.com/products/relion-5200-ma-hThe MLVSS needs to be able to see both cell voltages in his case 2S for it to work.
Yes I understand but the pack voltage is 7.4 volts. And no balance lead so the MLVSS wont work. How is that 2s? The Fromeco has only a JR plug (2-lead), i.e. 1s. See here: https://fromeco-scale-avionics-llc.myshopify.com/products/relion-5200-ma-h
So why not connect the battery to the FBVS, and FBVS to the 1s input of the MLVSS. The MLVSS just sees a voltage over the Gnd and 1s pins, and won't know whether it's looking at a Fromeco, LiPo, or NiMH.
