FrSky or Spektrum

hello. with the templates listed on rc soar work on the x20rs radio? his site shows the x14 radio. i tried to download the armsoar template but that was a miserable experience. looking for something i can get installed and use my blaster dlg. i did install a tw gr6 receiver in it. got most of the controls working. some of the throws were a bit over done. do i need to set up my throws first then install the template? im a new user of the frsky radios. still cant figure out how to modify the radio via bootloader mode.
You don't modify the radio using Bootloader. Bootloader was something you needed to flash new firmware to the radio when the radio was first released. That has long not been unnecesary. So get your linkages correct first, IE with the servo centered adjust the linkages to have controls at zero. Use the horn mechcanical adjustments to get the throws approximately correct. If you need to alter the throws or adjust dual rates do this in the mix menu throws can be controlled using the weight function in the mix menu. The output menu is used for sub trims or throw limits, but only after the mechcanical parts are done first. On a good setup the outpput adjust should not be required.

  1. Connect the transmitter to your computer: First Turn on the X18 transmitter, then connect it to your computer with a USB cable, and wait for it to be recognized as a storage device.
  2. Navigate to the model folder: On your computer, locate the X18 SD card drive. Open the Models folder.
  3. Copy the model file: Find the model file you want to upload on your computer this must be a "bin" file in Ethos format, ( OpenTX format will not work,) and copy it into the Models folder on the transmitter's SD card.
    • Copy the model image (if applicable): If your model file includes a custom image, you will need to copy the image file to the bitmaps Models folder as well.
    • Safely eject the SD card: Before unplugging the USB cable, ensure that you safely eject the SD card from your computer to prevent data corruption.
    • Check the transmitter: Turn on the X18. The newly uploaded model should now appear in the model list. You may need to go to the Model Select screen to see it.

Cool much appreciated! Going to set up my blaster later. Supposed to be raining most of the week. Sat is most likely maiden day. After rc sailing in the am.
