FrSky G-RX8 redundant receiver installation

I am planning to install a redundant receiver in my newly built F5J glider. My questions are about antenna an RX placement. The glider has a kevlar pod and a carbon boom. I was thinking that locating the antennas from the G-RX8 within the pod and the antennas from the redundant RX out the end of the boom, maybe within the rudder in a 90 deg V would provide the best coverage. The tail feathers are fiberglass over highload blue foam. Other options are to have the redundant antennas located somewhere along the boom using a pair of fin mounts. The tail feathers are fiberglass over highload blue foam.

So my questions are:

What is the best RX that would work? is it still the XM+ or would the R-XSR be better?

Would it be better to locate the antennas out the tail or using fins out boom a little way back from the pod?

If out the tail, would it be better to locate the redundant RX in the tail and have a long servo lead between the 2 RXs or to get long antennas for the redundant RX? If long antennas would it be better to have on antenna from each RX in the fuse and the other out the tail?

I like the idea of running them out the boom. I would also suggest any receiver that will fit. I do like both units you mentioned.

Why not out the boom? I don't like cutting into a boom if I can help it! It will be weaker if you cut any holes in there, and the landing stresses can be very high on the boom.

Place the receiver in the back, and run the wires to it. FrSky has not yet offered longer antennas, and the longer antennas never work as well as the shorter stock antennas. Our goal is to have the best reception, I would not want to compromise the antenna performance.
