Frsky/Brain2 mini fbl adapter cable

Hi folks, Is it possible to make the frsky /brain 2 mini fbl adapter cable and what does it do ? Is this cable even necessary if I don't wish to receive telemetry back from the frsky sbus rx? I've purchased a second hand rc helicopter that included the Brain2 mini fbl. Unfortunately I was unaware at that time,, of the necessity for both the adapter cable and the brain2 usb cable and neither of these came with the heli. I have been trying to purchase both cables locally in Australia they're unavailable and after being quoted more than $70 aud just to post them from a hobby store in the USA I'm left with a helicopter shaped ornament! Cheers Zigg

I looked over the docs and I think you are talking about the USB adapter cable. If so, you need that to update firmware on the device. To fly, you should be able to just install the appropriate Lua script (Ethos or OTX) which will allow you to get to all the settings on the device.

Thanks for your response Gnichola I appreciate your help. You're right I think regards the USB adaptor cable but I have also read that the Brain2 mini requires a Bluetooth device in order to talk to a PC for setup and I didn't get one of those with my helicopter purchase either!
Is there any other way to do this without the Bluetooth device? Cheers Zig

It doesn't seem like you followed my link above and look at what was available? If not go take another look, specifically to the two links for "integration"
For OpenTx https://updatebrain.mshbrain.com/software/Brain2OpenTX-EdgeTX.zip
and for Ethos https://updatebrain.mshbrain.com/software/Ethos_Integration.zip
Here is an image from the Ethos docs that shows how you setup the device, and it seems you can do everything from your transmitter.

Hi and thanks for your response guys! I am sorry but I have been unable to reply before now but I am currently looking at your suggestions and I will see where that takes me. I have meanwhile though actually located the the brain2 mini to pc adapter cable but i am still in need of the frsky adapter cable or a way to connect the rx safely without burning out the brain2 mini. The rx I have is the frsky xm+ and I don't require telemetry so is the msh51645 cable necessary????
Cheers Ziggy
