Forza 2.5

I am so sorry guys. The cutting wing servo covers thread was done with pics from this build, but looking back, November of 2019, the build photos never got uploaded. Here are the pics.

Mo - from the pics it looks like you were making/fitting your own control horns.
Was that because you prefer, or were the models supplied with none? If so were there any other missing accessories?

Cheers,

Doc.

@Wayne - we need some video!
Yep, I know.. I generally get my video by letting someone else fly my plane and then I record it, but I don't want to give anyone else any stick time on her, I'm enjoying her too much. That and the first day when I did let others fly her, there was too much fog to film it.

As Dr. j pointed out. I did need to make horns for this batch of planes. They were the first out of the molds as I recall. They come with pre horned these days…

Doc,

When can I get some Forza? I love this plane!!

Exceptional flight is how I would describe this plane. One of the rare planes that really does fly as good as she looks.

I got some stick time on her again and she is just a pure joy to fly. Does everything I ask and carries energy so well. A similar plane flew and it needed ballast to fight the head wind, but the Forza was plenty happy without ballast. And I love these colors, so darn easy to see in the sky even when the wind is blowing my eyeballs around. LOL

Sorry if I am gushing, but this is my all time favorite plane.

I’m totally with you there Wayne! I absolutely love my Forza, it ticks every box and flies great from 5mph up to whoa there! Tomorrow we’ve got 20 to 30+, so she’s going to be ballasted up and ripping.
I love it so much, despite the fact it is in perfect condition and is always a real pussycat to land (and I’ve flown it for the majority of my flying for over a year now), I’ve done something I’ve never done before.
I’ve ordered another one!
What I really, really want though, as I said a while back to Doc J, is a fuz for the Forza wings that is just like that for the Alpenbrise, which I and many people think is the best looking model on the planet.
A complete, say 2.75m Mini Brise, would be a really good model, so please James please…

Hey Jonty glad you like the little whizzer.

Do you have any pics - I have no Forza in UK pics.

Hmmm..."Minibrise"? never thought of that...hmmmm.

More are coming and we are on the brink, Wayne...

For Doc J, some not too brilliant Forza pics from good old Blighty on a dim day…

I just finished doing some work on one of these. I’m really liking the lines. I also noticed that the elevator joiner has been enlarged from 1.5mm on my Corsa Schwing 108 to 2mm on this bird. It makes a noticeable improvement. The one I saw needed a larger servo window and more Kevlar or support for the hinge at the root.

No up/down movement yet on the elevator hinge after 2 years. The variables, the variables…
This model flies so well. Oh, have I said that before?

Good the hear. The one I delt with was from I think the same production run (prototype). But the kevlar hinge fibers are breaking at the root of the elevator.

I had great concern for there being no lateral support of the nose tub. So I offered to exchange some lead for lateral support.

I installed a full length "Servo Tray". As the data seems to show I wind up with a lot of these prototypes at some point in the ship's life cycle, I added Kevlar to the tub and installed the option for the rudder servo to be moved to the front. There are also huge S-glass fillets running the length of the nose into the hoop strength area of the fuselage just ahead of the LE.

In the end I think I exchanged 30 grams of lead for structural strength.

This model has both servos in the tail.

New one's coming to the good old US of A, from a new manufacturer with many structural improvements.

But...the same good flying abilities.:p

Watch this space.
