Forum software updated - lots of nice new features.

OK - Just a quick heads up that we have updated the forum and it has some pretty cool new updates that we are still playing with. Some of the changes you may have already used and didn't even notice. One that I am playing with in this posting is the new text editor. While the old editor was really good, this new one has really been developed to make things easier and reduce the need to scroll around the screen etc.

The image handling works a little differently, but I have to say that I like it a fair amount. Rather than stacking small images vertically, it now places larger images horizontally so you can scroll to the image in the editor without loosing the view of where you are editing, etc.

And the way that text is handled with graphics is improved with rules as used here, or if a title is used it will break to the next line. Very nice.

The preview works much better actually showing you in the editor pretty much exactly how your image will look.

For example the editor shows the quote above as the viewer will see it on the site. Simple, but so nice! Much less guessing as to how things will look on the page. Hey, what can I say, I used to be a graphic designer, this is nice stuff to see.


Anyhow, this particular posting is being done as an article. Basically means this posting will be kept at the top of this thread and each page of the thread should it go for many pages. Handy for new product releases and that sort of thing.

Anyhow, I better get back to work here, but will be playing with some of the more of these new features here very soon.

The cool off is 2 weeks. If you FB login ANYTIME In those 2 weeks, the the deletion is canceled. You have to truly cautious not to interact with FB in that time.

I never installed the app, we used to have a FB login option for Aloft, but got rid of it. The idea was to make things easier for our customers. We do some posting on Facebook, and I do look in on some of the RC related things on there from time to time, but otherwise do not use it. When I did use it, I banned anyone posting political stuff. With how bad FB is to discuss things like RC topics, it would only be worse for anything like politics.

I really spend as little time as possible there. (Some of our manufacturers really like messenger.. can't get them to use email.)

Hmm, now that I am thinking of it, it is interesting how social media AI has been the heart of polarizing politics, but when you think about it, it actually polarizes EVERYTHING. Such as normally simple things like FrSky VS cloners. Suddenly this became an all or nothing sort of discussion. Interesting. I do feel this is dumping into all spectrums of our lives and feeding more hate from one group towards another regardless of what group it is. Could be something as simple as flying RC planes.. What a mess.
