Forum software updated - lots of nice new features.

OK - Just a quick heads up that we have updated the forum and it has some pretty cool new updates that we are still playing with. Some of the changes you may have already used and didn't even notice. One that I am playing with in this posting is the new text editor. While the old editor was really good, this new one has really been developed to make things easier and reduce the need to scroll around the screen etc.

gliding-main.jpgThe image handling works a little differently, but I have to say that I like it a fair amount. Rather than stacking small images vertically, it now places larger images horizontally so you can scroll to the image in the editor without loosing the view of where you are editing, etc.

And the way that text is handled with graphics is improved with rules as used here, or if a title is used it will break to the next line. Very nice.

The preview works much better actually showing you in the editor pretty much exactly how your image will look.
This is a quote!!
For example the editor shows the quote above as the viewer will see it on the site. Simple, but so nice! Much less guessing as to how things will look on the page. Hey, what can I say, I used to be a graphic designer, this is nice stuff to see. (y)

Anyhow, this particular posting is being done as an article. Basically means this posting will be kept at the top of this thread and each page of the thread should it go for many pages. Handy for new product releases and that sort of thing.

Anyhow, I better get back to work here, but will be playing with some of the more of these new features here very soon. :)

Konrad is not concerned with your content on other platforms. But rather the transparency of those platforms. That is it is critically important where one gets one's information and to understand the cost one pays to dissimilate and assimilate that information.

Selling one's soul to FB, FT or RCG is just too high a cost.

Besides we pay top dollar for souls here at Aloft!

About the Facebook and other icons - I turned those off. Would you like them turned on and working?

no lol. As long as i can post pictures and youtube embed im good. I despise facebook links almost as much as pinterest shares from my wife :ROFLMAO:

I think @Konrad needs to refer to himself in the third person more to confuse even more people. Nigel is very happy with the forum update.

That is understood as Aloft is a retailer.

What is surprising is how little blood Aloft is demanding.

Nate & Wayne are funning me, I'm fine with that.

No, I'm not trying to confuse anybody. It is that I'm confused. I don't know what the "At sign" before my name means. I also don't understand why anybody would want to be on /use FB. It is a horrible platform. Both as a product and as under regulated data collection and data sale agency.

Facebook is so helpful. Yesterday my coworker was telling me I should check out this site called Wayfair and then the next thing you know I'm getting ads for it I didn't even have to type it in it was so nice.

@Konrad that at sign is how you tell forum software you want to refer to its user database. It also notifies that user that they were named in that post via notification. For instance if there was some other forum thread going on that I had nothing to do with yet but you wanted to bring me in you could reference my name there like hey come check this out and I would get a notification.

Thank you.

Nice? I call that terrifying!

He was being sarcastic. :)

My wife and I were talking on the phone one day and I mentioned I needed to get a SMOG check on our truck. She got an ad for a SMOG place for the town I was in. She has the Facebook app on her phone!

Wow, that is truly terrifying to think that FB is tied into the DMV data base. Or worse actually being able to listen into your verbal phone conversation! I can just see the FB A.I. thinking the wife screaming at me F-you, F-you is a form of phone sex and sending me Frederick of Holywood ads!

It listens! We have shown this a few times with my wife's phone.
YIKES!!! Was that understood in the user agreement?

I didn't think so. Time to dump and wipe clean anything that was contaminated with the FB app.
