I am currently switching all my planes from Spectrum to FrSky and my X20 Pro AW Xmitter. It took me about 10 months to move and I was in the process of switching my planes over when I did the move.
Consequently, I am really starting over re-learning Ethos and the Radio again. I purchased the X20 Pro tray with the folding arms and didn't want to take the tray on and off each time I went flying. So, the Xmitter won't fit the FrSky case with the tray still attached.
The solution for me was, I bought a Harbor Freight case, pulled the foam out to allow the Xmiiter with the tray to fit. My shoulder harness is folded up and is also in the case. I have room for the charge cable and SD card I use. Once I got it to fit, I sprayed the foam with Plasti Dip to strengthen the foam and prevent it from tearing. I love the tray and how all of it fit the case. ( I did the exact same think for my iX14 and the Secraft tray I have for it.)
The Secraft tray has a "kickstand" that unfolds from the back of the tray, to hold the tray/Xmitter at an angle while on the shop workbench or at the field benches. It is much easier to work on the xmitter when it is at an angle vs flat on the bench.
Is there a "kickstand" for the FrSky tray that unfolds to uses and folds flat on the back of the tray? Is there a folding phone/tablet stand that would work that anyone else has tried?. I tried a phone stand but the X20 pro is too heavy. The X20 and tray weighs about 3 lbs 9.5 oz. Any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Wayne, perhaps you can design one that mounts to the back of the tray and folds flat to put everything back in the case like the Secraft tray does.
