There is a very informative book by Keith Sparks titled Building With Foam that is very good on how cutting and building with foam.
He has or had a website called parkflyerplastics.com where the book can be purchased from. I have a copy myself.

I was talking with a customer yesterday, and turns out he uses the Giles software and has the heat compensation working! He has been using it for a long time and loves the software. So it is still valid. He feeds it via USB.
