Foam Core wings covered in "New Stuff"

Hello group, was wondering if anyone has cut foam cores (blue core or pink for example, or even EPS) and simply covered the cores themselves with "New Stuff" (perhaps 10 mil)?
I'm making a light build in this situation, probably something along the lines of 10-15 oz/sq inch for a PSS light slope model. If I try this, I'll have a balsa leading edge and trailng edge, as well as some light balsa spars in the core. I am looking for a light weight and rapid build option compared to my traditional wood skins over foam core method. I know they won't be as durable but they'll probably get me prototyping and scratch building designs I'd like to try that I tend to not do for the cost and time involved with proper sheet over foam and glass, or covering. Thanks in advance.

it works great. i would start out at a lower temp and hold it in place longer until you get comfortable. If you want a lighter build packing tape works very well, its more rigid, and easier to apply.
This is packing tape on pink foam

This is what I use on all foam

For wings I will suggest you use the DI film. We seem to be about the only folks using it, but it is the bomb when you are doing shapes without compound curves like a wing.
