Flight modes

Flyingfast

New User
Hello, I am new to forms. I am using an FR sky X9D plus SE radio with the latest version of open TX. I have set up flaps and elevate, mixing so that when the flaps go down the elevators go down slightly at the same time. My problem is I want to set up flight mode so that I can use the elevator trim independently on all three modes.
The problem is when I set up the flight modes and use the switch. I lose the down elevator mixing that I put in. I have set it up as such.
Flight modes. Name. Switch. Elv
FM0. Flap Up
FM1. Flap Half. SB- 1
FM2. Flap Full. SB down. 2
In the mix settings, I have set the elevator mixes to mode 1 and 2 respectively along with the proper switches SB- and SB down
Has anybody ever tried this before and can tell me if I am missing something because I have tried everything I can even looking up online and have not been able to correct the problem Thank you

I think you are doing things redundantly.

I personally never used flight modes in OpenTX, simply was not needed, I did everything with mixing instead. There are some nice advanced methods you can do to accomplish your goal, and they will not use any flight modes. With this said, I think Flight Modes will do the trick for you. Modes basically exist to give you different trim settings in different modes. So you can simply adjust the elevator trim for each mode and you should be good as long as that mode is also force the flaps to the different position.

In OpenTX there are usually 5 different ways you can accomplish a complex task. One or two of them will be correct, and the rest will be some cobbled together junk that will annoy you in the future.

For my I setup mixing with automatic flap compensation, and that compensation can be fine tuned using the throttle trim as I do not use throttle trim for anything else. This makes dialing in the flap to elevator mix super easy on the first flight. This is a bit complex to setup in OpenTX and I have been away from it long enough not to remember the steps.
