Finding the truth

I frequent a Facebook RC group. One person (P1) asked about FrSky radios as he is considering purchasing a new radio. I suggested he give Aloft a call to ask about some concerns. Another person (P2) chimed in and said the OP would not get a strait answer. P2 claims he worked for a "major" in sales and was not allow to say anything bad about a product. He could only steer the customer to another product. I'm hoping P2 is full of crap. My experiance with Aloft and some FrSky RX's has been nothing but good!

Why trust a salesman? Virtually everything about any of the FrSky transmitters is already on the web somewhere. I'm with you, my experience with Aloft has always been first rate.

Aloft has always be straight with me, and their shipping is fast. When on the net, you must be aware of shills. I have found the forum are full of self proclaimed "experts" that really have no idea what they are talking about. I have a Taranis X9D Plus Special Edition and I love it. I was always a JR driver until I got my X9D.

Well, not sure how I can help with this. If you have ever talked with me or my staff about radios you will find that I like my FrSky gear a lot, but I really only steer people away from one brand as I simply do not like their RF link. It starts with an S. I give high praise to Futaba, Hitec, some Airtronics (Sanwa) and Jeti models. JR really doesn't do it for me either. Heck, I'll even add Multiplex to the equation as I liked some of their designs and they sort of started the logic approach that OpenTX is based on.

With that all said, it is hard to ignore the strengths and value of the FrSky world. Do I sell the products? Sort of, I would say they sell themselves. :) Am I biased? Probably, but I am also spoiled by my radio. FrSky has huge weaknesses, their instructions suck, it can be confusing, and well, things are just different in the FrSky world. If you are up to the challenge I think you will be very well rewarded as the FrSky radios with OpenTX on them are TOP of the line in what they can do, and what they cost and receiver options. I have yet to see a radio that can touch them.

I've visited with Aloft staff on many occasions. In my experience .... if they have a FrSky product that they think might be inappropriate for a particular user or questionable product performance they will not hesitate to steer you away from a product even if that means they don't make a sale.

I'll second what Scott said. Aloft has steered me away from some Fr Sky servos even when they, Aloft, didn't have anything in the same class/spec from other brands they carried to sell me. Aloft lost a sale of servos as they felt their servo offering wasn't going to meet my requirements.

It is a tenet of sales, not to bad mouth somebody else's product. But rather make their, the competition's, product look bad by comparing it to the strength of the product one is selling.

In the case of selling Fr Sky this is easy!

Here you will quickly learn who has the technical chops and will find that we don't have to "play nice" to placate the deficient products or management (technical support) of others. Please don't waste your time on Facebook RCGroofs when it come to Fr-Sky issues. You've found the source for the straight scoop!
