Extend Antenna to 400mm for S8R receiver

Looking for 400mm long antenna for S8R.

Previously my 60" sloper had old FM receiver with long antenna, so the carbon used for wings and front end (where receiver mounts) were not a problem. However, with the new FrSky S8R has only 150mm long antenna so reception may be reduced by the carbon.

I can only find 250mm long antenna with Ipex4 connection which is not long enough. What I need is 400mm so any suggestions how to get a longer antenna or other solution would be appreciated?

I have seen people drill holes in the sides of the body and run the antenna out. Have you done any range testing with the antenna in various orientations in the nose? The other option is to use a second rx further back, like one of these. https://alofthobbies.com/xm-plus.html
