Expo and Rate setup on a flying wing using FrOs on a Horus 10s

I have a delta wing model ( wild hog/hog wild ) that I managed to set up without too much trouble but the throw rates on the control surfaces are extreme to say the least!!
I have tried the the rates/expo function in the menu with no success, what am I missing or doing wrong here any help would be appreciated..

Tony..

Open TX I have on my Taranis I do not want it on my Horus, with the Taranis the delta works fine, there is no reason I can see that it should not work on the FrOs in the Horus..

It will work on the Horus. It is just that you will get a lot more help as many more folks are using OpenTX. The Horus manual goes into detail on how to set what you ask. Please let us know what in particular you have a problem with.

FOS is a dead system (no longer supported) It would be best to move to Ethos or OpenTX as soon as practical.

Konrad I understand FrOs is now obsolete, and I will most likely change to Ethos sometime in the future, I mapped the required channels to give me elevons on the delta wing but cannot get the system to respond to the regular method of changing rates or Expo, the menu has a program for this that works fine on all my other fixed wing models I just can't figure out why? could it be related to having to re map the input output channels??

Konrad I am flying an software version and do not have that function, however the fault is entirely mine being of advanced years and not really comfortab;e with this electronic crap I looked no further than the display, turns out in the rates/expo function because you are using Aileron 1 and Aileron 2 channels for the mix they display exactly opposite on screen IE adjust the elevator and the ailerons respond, adjust the ailerons and the elevator responds, putting iy bluntly the naming is arse backwards and I was to frustrated to notice, thank you for being patient, and I do hate not being able to solve a problem..
I shall fly the Hog wild until some thing wears out or falls apart now I have it sorted, great little flyer for windy days when most everything else is grounded..

Should be an option in the mix to reduce the "weight" or throw of the mix. Not sure what it is called in FrOS, but should be easy to find in your mix. You want to start at 50% for elevons. 50% elevator plus 50% aileron equals 100%. You can adjust down from there.

Hi Wayne, I'm still running the 1.2.03 version of FrOs so some of the terminology is different and some of the programs I am sure are different, that said I did figure it out and the fault was entirely my own. I totally suffered a case of "Tunnel Vision" I was so focused on reducing the aileron throw that I failed to notice that while I was adjusting the "weight" on the ailerons the elevator was responding to those adjustments, I was so focused on the ailerons I could not comprehend what was happening. In the expo/rate menu screen when Aileron is selected it actually adjusts the elevator when you select Elevator it shows on screen as AILERON 2 this confused me until I thought "what the hell" and started to adjust the weight and observed the ailerons responding, so in effect the terminology is reversed, if I had not become so frustrated and succumbed to my " tunnel vision " I would have noticed this right away but being stubborn I forged ahead with trying to adjust the weight on the "ailerons" only and couldn't see the wood for the trees.. Overall I am happy with the system, I do not have a great turnover of models so my programming episodes are not frequent and this contributes to a certain lack of knowledge/familiarity with any system I'm sure, however all good now.

I really like the x10s as a radio and may upgrade to the Ethos protocol in the future but for now what I have serves me very well..
