Ethos F3F Templet (Mike Shellim)

Konrad

Very Strong User
This is a shout out to thank Mike Shellim @RC-Soar for the fantastic Ethos templet! Let me state that this templet is why I made the move from OpenTX to Ethos.

I really loved the power and flexibility we had with the OpenTX F3F templet. So much so that I was very reluctant to move away from OpenTX. Having now done so, I'm kicking myself for not making the move earlier!

The Ethos templet is so well written and thought out that I was able to manually carry over the values (curves) from the OpenTX templet to Ethos. I just converted my Freestyler 5 and it appears that the surfaces move just the same between the two radios (X9E & X18). I'll now go back through the Ethos templet to make sure I'm using all the latest features I'm sure Mike has added since I last down loaded his OpenTX templet.

Thank You Mike I've been using your templets and mix tutorials since the days of the Multiplex Profi 4000.

All the best,

Konrad

My pleasure Konrad - delighted that you're enjoying the F3F template :-) There are at least five of us in the UK F3F league using the template, my own model is an FS5 running the OTX version.

There are at least than many users of your template in my club (NCSS) alone.

Is there a reason you haven't made the move to Ethos with the FS5. I think I've got the 900 mHz antenna fitted in my FS5.

Ah, that's great!

I'm still with OTX for my competition models, partly because I prefer the form factor of some of the OTX radios, and partly because there's no simple way to migrate the data to Ethos. Related to this is the lack of a Companion program. So realistically, it would be rather time consuming to switch systems.

Got it, it was hard to make the move from the X9E to the X18. But the added $300 price premium for the Ethos tray radio made the decision for me.

Your templates do make it easy to manually plug in the numbers. I think it took me less than ten minutes to move my FS-5.

Now there is the real issue of fitting the RX and antennas of the TD RX in the modern F3F ship. This is more of a concern if the servos we’re fitted with the smaller RX6R in mind.

I have to admit I haven’t test flown the FS-5 since the change over. But I don’t anticipate any programing problems.

Again thank you for the great template.

P.S.
I’m using your Ethos E-Soar template for my Multiplex Lentus.
