Entry Thermal Electric

ORRich

Very Strong User
Hi all

Looking for advice on the entry-level thermal electric F5J - I think starting with a 2.5 meter ship - don’t need to spend much - for reference I was looking at the Neo Thermic and have built and flow balsa before so was looking forward to the build, but that model doesn’t have flaps and for thermaling I think I would like flaps - any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I am just finishing up an FXj 2.5 from rs-aero.com. Matches your description. Mine will be flying very soon, but you can watch this playlist to get an idea. The creator/vendor is Austrian and speaks/writes perfect English. Very accessible via email. Just one to maybe put on your list.

I suggested to Robert, the designer, that he should contact Wayne about US distribution, so hopefully they will be easier to get in the future.

TopModel makes a number of excellent gliders that should work well for you. I love my Prelude, a great thermal hunter and extremely forgiving of my occasional sloppiness. At the moment Aloft has only the REF version in stock, but since you're looking for an entry-level model, that one may meet your needs if you don't need ailerons.
