EEprom Error

OPEN TX issues

I have two Taranis X9D Transmitters, one running Open TX version 2.1 and the other 2.3 .

I have only just booted both up having not done so for about two years when everything then worked perfectly .

Both transmitters have the same problem . Now if I try to alter a models configuration and save that I get an eeprom error.

If I then format the eeprom and load back the original backup files I do not get the eeprom error and the transmitters are back to the original state .

Of course this means I am unable to make any alterations for any model even to the smallest extent .

I am at a loss how to fix this so any help would be highly appreciated.

If both radios started showing the same EEPROM error after sitting unused for a couple of years, I would first suspect the SD cards or corrupted data rather than the EEPROM hardware itself. Old SD cards can develop issues over time and cause save/write problems in OpenTX. I would back everything up, try a freshly formatted or new SD card, and reflash the same OpenTX firmware version. After that, restore models individually instead of loading the entire backup at once. It may also be worth checking the internal battery voltage on the older X9Ds, since low backup voltage can sometimes cause strange memory behavior.
