E-Tracer build

I bought 2 spinners. The larger one wobbles quite a bit. I spun/turned/moved it and could never get it straight. I put the smaller one on and it is pretty close after turning/moving it a handful of times.

When installing the prop, do you put blue loctite on the shaft threads and also the locking nut? I assume I tighten it so that the prop moves freely without slop and then put the lock nut on?

Thanks.

The only place that needs loctite are the blade retaining pins/screws. Install blade, tighten to just before blade starts binding (It should swing like a broken arm), put a drop of blue loctite on exposed threads, install nut snugly on exposed threads, they won't be going anywhere.

Maiden flight today. I flew it on 3s. Plenty fast like that, but will most likely try it on 4s once it is sorted. I'll need to shim the motor a bit because I have more down thrust than I wanted. It pitches down under power and climbs when soaring.
Fun plane. I need more expo on the elevator but the ailerons are perfect. The crow/brake needs a bit more down elevator but I'll probably wait until I have the motor shimmed and re trim the plane first.

Adjust the crow elevator mix now. Don't wait.

A stupid fix for the down thrust is to mix in up elevator.. only till you mechanically fix it.

I thought about the throttle elevator mix, but I am going to shim first. I have time before next flight.

The crow will change or go away if I fix the down thrust issue. I have up elevator trimmed in and that will be removed or drastically changed which may get me close on the crow. I set it up per the specs on the website.

Pics - ok.

Hi, please pardon me, but I’m struggling to understand why the up trim you put in with the motor running (which is strange in itself), is still in effect when in the landing flight mode. It really doesn’t want to be that way.

Landing is not a separate flight mode. I have crow on a slider which includes an elevator mix.
I don’t really see this plane as a thermal hunter so I did not set up a bunch of flight modes. If I can’t get it sorted with crow and mixes then I’ll add a flight mode For landing.
The trim under power is from too much down thrust In the firewall. I just shimmed the motor to remove it. You are correct, it is not something you normally want.

Happy New Year!

Ok. Here is proof. Still dialing it in.

Dang that looks nice! Was looking at the picture trying to figure out where you are flying and could not place it. I see you listed your location as Sanger. Looks like an awesome flying field.

Dang, that is a super nice field!

Our local club is building up a brand new field this year. They managed to find a really nice property after their old field was sold from under them. Looking forward to the progress on it once the soils dries out enough for the heavy equipment.

Great news! Where is this at? Still in Petaluma?

Yep, about the same distance from the shop. Not sure they want to give out the address just yet.

That is awesome! I love to hear about new fields instead of lost fields.

I want to contact the adjacent property owner to see if there is access to the mountain for slope flying.

@Wayne was eyeing this plane and thinking about a powertrain. Could you please tell me how wide the dimensions are below (in mm please). Wondering why type of liion configuration I can stuff in there. For reference, the Magnus will take a 3S 21700 pack stuffed all the way back to the elevator servo compartment. Many thanks.

@Jarron Can you get him some dimensions? (I'm currently out of town.) Let's make sure we add them to the product description too. Thanks!
