To save a few bucks I ordered the DYI Battery Deal (which was a discounted battery because it was supplied with an incorrect connector) and also the QX7 Extension lead (that Aloft suggested/linked as a replacement connector) to replace the battery in my Horus X-12. I removed the connector on the new battery and soldered on the QX7 lead connector, matching red and black wires. Fortunately before plugging it in I noticed the polarity of the connector itself was opposite from that of the connector on the battery I removed. I reversed the red and black pins in the connector to match the original battery connector, checked it with a voltmeter, compared it to the original battery, held my breath, and plugged it in. Had I not noticed that I think there might have been magic smoke. Of course if I had just cut the original battery connector off things would have been fine but I wanted to keep that battery in tact. So, if you are using the DYI battery, take heed if you use the QX7 connector, or any other connector!
