Downgrade R9 Slim+ or what?

I bought a R9 slim+ (non-OTA) a couple years back when I purchased the older R9 and 900mhz module. The regular R9 works just fine. The slim+ will bind but not output SBUS. Is there a software version I should be up/downgrading the rx to?

My X9D is at OpenTX 2.2.3. I don't want to upgrade it further because I use so many older recievers (several of X4R II, X8R, L9R), and they are all in 7 planes and 3 multirotors. I don't want to change anything on the TX.

So can I make this little R9 slim+ work, or do I need to crawl back to 2015 and be quiet?

Drag yourself into the 21 century. With only 10 aircraft it should only take a 1/2 hour. Changing to ACCST v2.1.x is easy. And it is a safety issue. There is no need to change OpenTX. Most of my radios are using OpenTX 2.2.4 and ACCST v2.1.x. I don't know about the L9R I think that is a D-8 RX.

I didn't see and FW updates to the R9 slim+ on ACCST that concerned S-bus.

Now my new radios are using OpenTX 2.3.14 and ACCST/ACCeSS v2.1.x

FrSky made a lot of changes to R9 over the early years of introduction. Might be a good idea to switch over to the current R9M module. I sell the stuff and was not able to keep up with the changes to the R9 system in the early years.

Wayne, I know this is a very old thread but I have a question wrt R9M module compatibility. I know the module is JR format, but is it compatible and fully functional in a JR radio? For instance, is power [output] setting available? I don't use telemetry so other than turning it on/Off (is that necessary for a non telemetry radio?) I'm not worried about that. I occasionally fly at a field that experiences interference on 2.4ghz and was contemplating using 900mhz to get around the interference. I have an older JR radio, but not FrSky radios (I have frsky modules/receivers paired with vintage Futaba and other radios)

Hmm, I think you will be fine for just the basic operations. You will not be able to make any changes that the transmitter usually controls, but I think this will work.

If you got the parts, plug them in and see. Should not be able to hurt anything.
