I've been flying both indoor and out for nearly 10 years. I have an old Futaba TJ8 and picked up an X7's soon after they came out, mostly for flying quads, even upgraded the gimbals. For my indoor flying just about anything will do but the X 7 is my mainstay, However, outdoors I do a lot on extreme distance / high altitude experimental flying, dropping gliders from weather balloons. And before anyone jumps on me, I have permission and do the flights with local ATC in the loop. Presently I use my Futaba and a dedicated 900mhz modem radio tied into my autopilot to control the glider. Is there any advantage other than the channels that I might not be aware of other to go with a X10 or X12.
