How to delete a model on old taranis transmitter not the plus does anything have to be done to the reciver?

Just delete it, nothing special needed. I think you push and hold the enter button to bring up a menu to delete. It has been a while... I may be wrong.

Well it did not work just resets timers

you need to select another model to delete a given model.
it is not possible to delete the currently active model.

OTOH , you may keep the model , then rename and modify it as needed for the new model .
this way you spare yourself the burden of binding an already bound receiver.
no need to erase it.
