D16 Firmware for D8 receivers

MikeB

Very Strong User
With FrSky phasing out support for the "old" D8 receivers, I have taken some code from "midelic" to get the D16 protocol running on D8 receivers.
This has been available since August 2019.
Details and the firmware are available here: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/sho...rSky-D16-firmware-for-D8-receivers&perpage=20
This firmware doesn't just do D16, it does:
When operating with V1 FrSky protocol this firmware includes significant mitigation such that any USM (Uncommanded Servo Movement) only lasts for 18mS, unless the Tx signal suffers interference.
Auto detection of protocol V1/V2, FCC/EU at bind time.
Dual bind, easily rebind between two transmitters.
Use Hub or SPort telemetry sensors.
Optionally use a servo output for SBUS, either polarity.
Select servo outputs to be 18mS or 9mS period (individually selectable).
Map servo outputs to channels.
Configure options using a script on the Tx.
Link quality reporting over telemetry, with other statistics available using a script to read them.

For those that may not know Mike, many of you are flying on code he wrote! MikeB is someone I REALLY trust and am always wowed with what he can come up with. I have not tried this firmware yet, but I will be when I get some time to play with it. It seems to solve all the issues FrSky keeps making with their products. :) Thanks Mike!
