Cool tools! (though I am a bit biased)

Being a much better software engineer than I am a pilot (or builder) I have whipped out a couple of tools that I think are somewhat useful.

I whipped out the initial concept in like an hour, but then kept coming back to it and trying to get the interface worked out and useful. It needs some docs and such, but I thought I would throw it out there and just get some feedback on it. I have wanted something like this for quite some time, but it was finally a comment Wayne made in his IDS thread where he mentioned, "The kit comes with a generous selection but how the heck do you know which is right?" when I realized I might not be alone.
If you check it out, maybe start at the bottom. Glider manufacturers generally tell you how many millimeters up/down a surface goes. The bottom calculator lets you input the length of the surface and the mm movement and it will give you a degrees reading. You can then use that number in the top section when you are figuring out what size horns you need and whether or not you should offset the arm, etc.
The data you enter is all saved to cookies so if you are slow like me and you take several days to get things dialed in the settings you entered should be there when you come back.

This one lets you generate an aspect correct image for your Ethos radio.

Guy shared it with me and I put it right to work on a wingeron project. LOL Not what it was intended for, but did the job just fine. :)

Also, the throw slider shows you if you have some mechanical differential. I see in the example he shows a flap. Very cool.

Guy I'm curious, how much rotational output of the servo are you assuming? Sometimes we have limits on how much travel at the servo head due to linkage interference. (IDS horns hitting the pushrod.)
 
Cool project Guy. I'll definitely be using Ethos Crop when i get a new radio 🤙
I'll dig into the other one when I have a plane to build. How's it going on your other software app?
 
Sorry for the slightly off topic post but what is the glider in the image? I just finished a Microbirds Tiny Tail and am starting another at 200%. The glider in the photo looks like it should be on my build list! ;-)
 
@Wayne the rotational output was set to 45°, -100 to +100 gives you 90° travel, and 150 goes to like 67.5°. This isn't a full physics simulation, so not every is calculated. Limits it does impose are that the servo arm doesn't go through the floor and that the linkage doesn't contact the hinge.
I have added a "bug report" button (at the very bottom of the page) that will copy the values you have setup and generate an email. Just send me that and I will look into it.
