CCPM linker D4R-II for ETHOS X18

Very Strong User
Hi guys I have a linker in my old taranus and now I run a X18 - can I make my own external module using the linker if I match up the pins?

I see the x18 has CCPM in trainer mode.

Regards,
Phil

Here is the linker and the corresponding pins in the taranus - I think I just need to match to the X18 external pins?

This seems to be the taranus module pinout - so I will try the configuration using the green connections to run the linker on the external module pins..

Pin 6 will be the CPPM in..

Will report back success or failure..

It will fail. Frsky made changes to the module bays, and Mike B wrote the code for the linker functions and had them added to OpenTX.

With this said, FrSky now has the built in wireless trainer setups. I personally prefer the Linker, it was fast and had a long range.

We just tossed out the last of the Linker Stickers and supplies a couple of weeks ago.

So is it possible to just use my old Xlite as a wireless trainer unit directly into the X18?

Or use the D4R as a Receiver in the external module bay without the linker?

XLite did not offer the newer wireless training. The Xlite Pro was one of the first to offer that. You could use this:

As far as the D4R - I don't think the X18 can talk to the D4R, but an X4R could be used. (pretty sure) basically bind the X18 to the X4R, and then connect the X4R to the Xlite. The X lite would need to be the master though. May not be what you are after. (I'm not 100% sure if the X lite will take the signals from the receiver or not, sorry, this is some older tech for my brain to recall the finer details of what radios can do what.)

Thanks Wayne - I should probably buy the FrSky wireless module! But I hate not using gear I already have! I’ll do some fiddling around before giving up!
