Thing is it pissed me off so I quit and went elsewhere to buy another receiver…don’t aggravate your customers with stupid stuff and captcha is just frustrating and as I have an account and have bought from Aloft before I don’t see the need to make sure I am not a bot????
If you want to add security add two factor via email…
@Konrad probably like you I connect to the forums off and on thru the day and it's really random. Not sure if it's because I'm on multiple devices. But this captcha, probably 9/10 times, i fail the picture selection. And not just the first one but as he stated a above, multiple times in a row.
Yep, I think you and I are doing much the same thing. On the forum or on the Aloft sales site I don't see a CAPTCHA request when I log in. I can see all my order history and other data on the Aloft sales site so I assume I'm in. I'm using Safari as my web browser.
P.S.
Did the cart and order thing. Didn't see a CAPTCHA thing, going all the way to the payment window. I didn't actually place an order.
We only had a simple question captcha setup for new accounts. No other captchas were turned on. I have no turned even that simple captcha off. No idea why you would be getting any. Do you still get one?
Yes, talking about the store and as I said, I am a returning customer so there should be no need for captcha and why would I bring this up if it is not happening?
It was also not simple, it was that one where you have to keep on clicking on pictures with xxx in it until it feels you have clicked on enough pictures…not simple at all
I wish it is the same for me but like thenated0g reported it happens for me all the time except once...so 99% of the time
This morning I thought, let me give it a try and see if I can order the sr8 pro sitting in my cart, but nope. I went through two of those stupid screens before I switched to the forum and updated the thread...
Does not happen on the forum side that I can tell only for the shop.
I logged out of my account (after doing captcha..again) then close browser - opened directly to alofthobbies.com (store) and tried to log in - got captcha..yes again.
Then I closed the page not completing the stupid thing, opened a new tab and logged straight in...I repeated the exact process three times and it did the same every time....first I get captcha, close tab, open tab and then log in...
Please understand I'm not doubting you at all. I'm just trying to provide the IT team another data point. They might look at my account to see what if anything is different between our two accounts. I'm off to shut down my browser (Safari) and heck reboot my machine.
Ah, makes sense. I just did not want them to ignore what I perceive to be a problem...I just really hate captcha especially ones where it says select the crosswalk and the are blocks with just a little stipe in it...do you select it or not. Captcha does not appear to know either as I fail that one every time no matter what I select...
I just did a reboot of my computer and launched Safari. Went to Aloft's sales site logged into my account. And lo and behold, I GOT the CAPTCHA screen request!
You just made my day...sorry to hear you are also affected - thanks for pointing out you are also using a Mac as am I - Safari on M1 MacBook
That makes me think there is some cookie setting that is not getting set correctly - I am going to see if I can clean the cache and try again.
