Not to be hyper critical here but being a BellSouth salesman alone does not make their opinion better than any other lay persons. I hear people say things about 11 and say it's crap, but when you ask them why they think that the answer I hear most often goes to the look and feel. They don't like the start menu or the new task bar or whatever. Not liking the look of the start menu doesn't make the OS crap.
I have been a software engineer since I bought a Commodore 64 back in 1982. I have worked with a number of operating systems during that time, but I wouldn't call myself and OS expert. Besides my day job, I am tech support for both my mother and mother-in-law, and with them I find the same thing usually makes their machines wonky. The click on crap...constantly. My mother digs herself into her political rabbit holes and ends up on ultra-spammy looking sites...and then clicks. My mother-in-law is the same way. My wife asks her, "why are you posting this stuff on Facebook" and the response is generally that she didn't do it. There are new plugins on her browser, and of course, she didn't install them. But of course, she did.
What does any of that have to do with the Win 10/11 battle? Nothing, except to show that computers are more difficult than they could/should be, and if you don't know what you are doing, you can get yourself in trouble.
One last item back to your issue. My machine was able to connect to my radio just fine, but at some point I was doing some work on other hardware and getting drivers setup for that. Next time I plugged in my radio for an update, it wouldn't connect. That was definitely a frustrating hour or so trying to get things back to working order.
I wish you luck on your setup.
