Can't update my FrSkyX20S

Screenshot 2025-11-06 at 2.54.51 PM.webp

OKay this is what I see, if i click on windows , version 1.63 starts to download and when its done I cant transfer it to my radio

I found a download link for version 1.70, when it was done, I clicked on it I got a message that Windows protected your PC and it did not have "run it anyway"

1.6.3 is the current Ethos version. You can use that just fine. Ethos Suite is upgraded to 1.7.0, and it should have offered to download the update, but that is fine. 1.6.3 will work fine.

I took a screenshot but how do I transfer it to here? and what I saw is that version 1.63 is the latest release not 1.70
After you hit reply there is a box below with a paper clip and message saying Attach files. So just point to the location where the screenshot is located and it will upload the file.

I'm fed up with this damn radio! I think I might sell it and buy a good Spektrum instead!
Well Spektrum updates are even more complex to perform. Is there no one you know in your flying club that can help you with the IT parts. I gather you are part of the more mature age group that would appreciate some help. Once someone shows you the process you are having trouble with you will say, My gosh that's easy.

Yes, I have a buddy who is a real computer guru. I'm going to see him either tomorrow or early next week an take the radio and the USB cord and see if we can do it from his laptop. I want to discuss going to windows 11 also. He has a disc he developed that smooths out a lot of windows problems. He once worked for Bell South as an engineer and was their top salesman or get him out here to go over my PC and do a tune up so I don't have problems I don't need.
He can set down with a keyboard and make a PC fly!
I have another RC radio I want to work on and convert it to 2.4. IT gets updated by plugging in a newer chip.
IT's an older Ace MIcropro 8000 I bought in 1994and have used for years. IT's so easy to program and it's all done with the control sticks.
I have a second one on 53 Mhz I use occasionally in bigger airplanes. The Rxs are kind of bulky and take up room and don't work good in smaller airplanes. The MIcropro is an all metal case.I like this X20S but I have had problem since I bought it. IT arrived with a bad battery in it that wouldn't take a charge and I have four chargers that I couldn't get it to charge on so I had to replace it

Great to hear you have someone to help you. Ethos works just fine on windows 10 and also on windows 11. Update the Aloft site when you have news. Cheers Henny

I have attached two screen shots, the first is what you should see once the radio is connected to Ethos Suite. The second screenshot is what you see once you click on Ethos.

I do see what you posted, but when scroll to 1.63 my pC downlaods it but when I click on the downlaod it gets blocked by Windows, or i get the message "You may not have the permissions to access the site. I have watched numerous videos on how to overcome that situation, but none of them work!
Or if Windows blocks the downlaod to the radio , i hve watched videos on how to fix that problem, but none of them work!
