can't register Frsky access receivers receivers

Good to know. Having halve a dozen of normal Archer receivers this will postpone my plans of switching to an Ethos radio.

I also have some RX6R and a G-Rx8 running Access firmware. I recon they won't work either?

Have not tested those.

If you are running ACCESS and ACCST but not using Tandem or Twin, then no need to upgrade to RF V3 that I am aware of. The radios currently come with RF V2.

I've got a Taranis X9D Plus 2019 binds with G-RX8 receiver but servos don't move. I'm not sure if this was one of the 14 Rx I sent to Aloft for Uni upgrades. I tried it with another Rx that has Uni - X8R, and that also binds but the servos don't move on that Rx either. If I turn off the Tx switch It says "the Rx is still connected" It seems like a Tx issue.
What am I dong wrong?

Are you running ACCST or ACCESS protocols.

Are the servos receiving pulses? Check by seeing if they are holding (centre) position.
Do you have mixes on the Tx so outputs are being sent?
Run the "Activate" LUA script when using any UNI receiver and check it reports it is activated. If it reports "LOCKED", then you need to follow the activation procedure.

Sounds like you are chatting with Chris here also. Either the programming on the radio is not correct, or if it has UNI it is not activated. But having more than one receiver from us like that would be VERY odd. I'm suspecting something with the transmitter setup.

Taranis Trouble. I have 4 Taranis X9D transmitters. Oldest to newest:
Can you help me with my binding troubles? I have a bunch of FrSky Rx and can bind all, except I don't know how to bind the X4R or get the servos on the G-RX8 to move. I choose the 4 most common Rx that I have. Tx #2 and #3 have been my go-to Transmitters.
For all below, when I say the Rx is bound the servos become centered. I've got lots of mixes on the Tx #4 X9D Plus 2019. I see one LUA scripts on the Tx #4 display screen- adaptr3.lua, and it says Crow->elev (CV:adp) v3.1 (inactive) with the Rx not on. How Do I activate it?

Tx#1: X9D ACCST, Mfgr Date 01/01/2013 Firmware: SVN Opentx-r, Vers: opentx-x9d-v1.1.02 It has three modes LR12, D8. And D16. This transmitter works fine for my simple planes.

Binding:
  • binds to X8R Uni Rx when in D16 mode & servos move.
  • binds to S6R Rx when in D16 mode & servos move I suspect this might be factory firmware but not sure.
  • Does not bind to X4R
  • Does not bind to G-RX8 (ACCST)
Tx #2: X9D ACCST, Mfgr Date 18/12/2013 Firmware: Opentx-x9d, Vers: v2.3.15. 10+ of my 25 FrSky have Uni in them. This transmitter has been diagnosed w/bad Rf board by Aloft and has an external iRange module. It’s one of my go-to Tx for the last 10 years.

Binding:
  • Binds to X8R Uni using ppm mode, servos do not move. If Tx is turned off Tx says “Rx is still connected”
  • Binds to S6R Rx (factory) using ppm mode & servos move. (used the same model and Tx settings as above - I didn’t change the model just re-bound the S6R Rx)
  • Does not bind to X4R Just a slow flashing red light on the Rx.
  • Does not bind to G-RX8 (ACCST). Just a slow flashing red light on the Rx.
Tx #3: X9D ACCST, Mfgr Date 10/04/2014 Firmware: Opentx-x9d, Vers: v2.3.15. 10+ of my 25 FrSky have Uni in them. Using internal Rf board. Only mode choices are XJT D8 and XJT D16. It’s my #2e Tx for the last 10 years.
  • Binds to X8R Uni using XJT D16 mode, servos do not move. If Tx is turned off Tx says “Rx is still connected”
  • Binds to S6R Rx (factory) using XJT D16 mode & servos move. (used the same model and Tx settings as above - I didn’t change the model just re-bound the S6R Rx
  • Does not bind to RX4 using either D8 or D16. Just a slow flashing red light on the Rx
  • Does not bind to G-RX8 (ACCST) using either D8 or D16. Just a slow flashing red light on the Rx
Tx #4: X9D Plus 2019 ACCeSS, Mfgr Date ??? Firmware: Opentx-x9d+, Vers: v2.3.15. Recently acquired from another club member with 2 G-RX8 Rx. These Rx came bound & working with the Tx.
  • Binds to X8R Uni using ACCST D16 mode, servos do move.
  • Does not bind to S6R Rx (factory) using ACCST D16 mode.
  • Does not bind to RX4 using ACCST D16 Ch 1-8. Just a slow flashing red light on the Rx
  • Binds to G-RX8 ACCST using D16, servos don’t move. Worked fine when I got the Tx and 2 Rx from club member, and I tried copying a model from one number in the Tx to another but now I can’t bind the one Rx that I fiddled with. ???
  • I did flash the ACCST RX4 and the SXR firmware from SD card to Tx #4. No luck

  • Bottom line: I can use all the Rx I have except the R4X and one of the G-RX8 that I tried to re-bind.

If the X4R shows a slow flashing red LED, then it is not in bind mode. Maybe the bind button is not working, or it is not fully pressed as the Rx is powered on.

If you have UNI on a receiver, then when it is in bind mode the red LED is on, but blinks off every half a second indicating it is changing to another protocol. When the Rx detects bind packets from the Tx it lights the green LED briefly for each packet received. UNI will then carry out a tuning procedure. For this to work it needs to receive many, valid packets. During this time, the red LED is lit and the green LED is on for each received packet, so may appear to flicker. If the Rx remains in this state for a long time, try moving the Tx further away.

With the G-RX8, if you have UNI, check it is activated as I described above.

Actually the G-RX8 has both ACCST and ACCESS firmware available.
Since you do get something happening when you use the ACCESS capable Tx, try registering the G-RX8 using the ACCESS protocol.

Background: I got a X9D Plus 2019 ACCeSS Tx and 2 planes and with an G-RX8 in each about a year ago with both Rx working fine in 2 aircraft. Both planes were operating in ACCST D16 mode. I made some adjustments in the Open Tx program and while playing around, tried to re-bind the one plane. Since I made those adjustments and Re-binding efforts the Rx is no longer bound to the Tx. The other plane with the G-RX8 bound with ACCST D16 is bound and works fine. Now to today's problem with the troublesome Rx: With the red and green light solid on the Rx, I figured I'd try to bind it, However, I noticed on the Tx there was a Reg Id: wi3Z211X. Ignoring that I tried to bind it with my X9D Plus 2019 using ACCST D16 and waited with the TX across the room and got a solid green light a red light blinking. Powered off both, then Tx on, then Rx on, and got a slow blinking light on the Rx. So I tried to bind it in ACCESS mode. Went to the registration page and waited and waited. I manually put the Reg Id: in and went to bind Rx1 no luck. I checked the Reg Id of the working Rx. It's the same number which I assume is the Tx registration #.

Rats: I need to modify the ACCST D16 results: I got it to bind with my X9D Plus 2019 using ACCST D16 and waited with the TX across the room and got a solid green light a red light blinking. Powered off both, then Tx on, then Rx on, and got a green light with servos centered but no movement on the servos. Why don't the servos move when bound?

When binding the Tx should have an option to set the Rx to output either channels 1-8 or channels 9-16. Check you are selecting 1-8.

Mike

Wow Thank you so much! Just ACCST D16 mode and select channels 1-8. All the rest was just a lot of hot air.
Even though I have a Ch 24 programmed!!
