Can Older Taranis X9D (non plus) be Upgraded to FCC V2 Firmware?

A buddy has an older Taranis X9D (non plus) that he bought used, and it still has the FrOS firmware. He bought two or three RX8R Pro receivers from Aloft and had them install FCC V1 firmware to match his transmitter, and they seem to be working fine. Now he is wanting to upgrade the old X9D to the newer FCC V2, and upgrade the RX8R Pro receivers to the newer FCC V2.1.0. I can easily help him with upgrading the receivers, but I've never tried to upgrade any firmware with FrOS. Which leads me to some questions.

1.) Can the internal XJT in an older Taranis X9D (non plus) be upgraded to FCC V2 firmware?

2.) If so, does the FrOS system menu have the capability of upgrading the internal XJT to the FCC V2 firmware?

3.) If not, can his X9D be upgraded to FCC V2 firmware by Aloft if he sends it in to them?

4.) Does the FrOS system menu have the capability of upgrading the RX8R Pro to the FCC V2.1.0 firmware?

Yes, it can be upgraded to FCC V2.

This radio does not run FrOS.

FrOS was only on the Horus radios.

Hope this helps.

Sorry about that Wayne. I thought that the FrSky factory version of OpenTx was called FrOS. Now I know the difference!
Thank you!
