Can I use companion to move X9d settings to my new QX7?7s

Just a quick question - Can you us OpenTx Companion to move model setups from a Taranis 9XD to a Taranis Qx7S? I have about 20 model setups in my 9Xd and would like to move about 5 of them to the newer radio. So far I have not been able to update the new radio profile with the old setups.

OPTION ONE
Open Companion
Connect the X9D
Select a X9D profile
Read models from the X9D
Change X9D profile to X7S profile
The models will be converted and a message will be displayed stating this
Review the converted models
Disconnect the X9D
Connect the X7S
Write models
Disconnect the X7S
Run calibration on the X7S (essential if you follow this set of instructions because the X7 calibration information is being over written by the X9D calibration settings)

OPTION TWO
Open Companion
Connect the X9D
Select a X9D profile
Read models from the X9D
Disconnect the X9D

Connect the X7S
Select the X7S profile
The models will be converted and a message will be displayed stating this
Read models from the X7S

Click and drag models from the X9D window to the X7S window
Close the X9D window
Write models
Calibration not required (assuming it was calibrated by you at some point since you received it)

Thank you for the instructions, it did eventually work. I found that you have to delete all programmed switches or sliders in the 9XD programming that are not present on the QX7 (in the input page), then save the changes. The transfer works perfectly after that.

I know, it seems pretty obvious to me now.

Thanks again for your help.

Hmm, I did it similarly to what RCDIY posted. And it did the trick, I just needed to reassign some switches after the transfer.

My method is to read the files in from the old radio. Then disconnect that radio and plug in the new radio. Read in the files from the new radio. I then drag the models from the old radio over to the window for the new radio. Then I write those faile back to the new radio. This way you keep all of your calibrations and settings for the new radio.
