Camp n Fly 2024 May 4-5th!

Jeremy raises a good point about the Pot Luck diner we do Saturday evening. We should discuss this a bit more.
1) Please join in, this is a great time!
2) Please bring a warm meal to share. Please no bags of chips, etc.
3) Bring your own beverages. Sometimes there are some beverages to share, but don't count on it.
4) Bring a chair.
5) This is the most important and easiest step - ENJOY!

Typically we have salads, BBQ, pastas, casseroles, and all kinds of yummy stuff to sample! And don't forget the deserts. :)

(We understand that some folks have restrictive diets, no worries, please bring your own food, but come eat it with us!)

If you have some spare firewood to share at the main camp, it is always happily turned into heat right before your eyes. :)

Can't wait to see you all!

What time is the potluck? Sounds like the rain will die off at 4pm. I’m guessing just after that sometime?

Quite the gaggle of sailplanes and people! This late afternoon/evening was splendid. Looking forward to tomorrow!

What an epic weekend. The winds today (Sunday) were pretty awesome. Really good hanging with all of you, and thanks Red for bringing my KR plane and letting me fly the Alpinebrise. Doc, if you're reading this, that thing is nothing short of incredible. I'll be buying some sort of Aeroic plane in the near future. You make some REALLY sweet ships my man.

Looking forward to seeing you guys soon. I saw some old friends and met a lot of cool people and I hope to fly with you again.

Thanks David - nice to get some positive feedback!

I heard that there was not so much wind - you should try flying that Alpenbrise in a bit of a breeze. Did you know it's never been flown ballasted so far, your side of the pond?

By the way guys, so far the highest non-DS, non powered pure gliding dive speed for the Alpenbrise A157 is 361 Kph (225Mph) with a 9.7G pullout - so its plenty strong enough.

🤫I heard that Red has a white/red/black Alpenbrise hiding in one of his sheds...who wants to go knock, knock, knocking on heaven's door?...where have I heard that before Bob?

I'm really happy to say that all of my models fly well.

Cheers,

Doc.

Maiden flight mid air? Toccata 1 - Jester 0. Just a slight mark on the Toccata fuselage - great maiden though - flew straight off the board, nice axial rolls and even as yet unballasted its very, very, fast...

Happy.

I may have caught that on a GoPro… we’ll see

Scott and I rolled up on Friday for the day to check it out. It's a really cool flying spot with a sweet little campground to go with it!

I got to rap out with Red, Shoelace(did you ever get that railslide?), Nate, Jlink125 and Mike from Florida. Super cool being surrounded by like minded rc flyers.

I'm definitely planning on camping and hanging out next year!

All packed up, on the plane in the morning. Managed to stuff an Alula, Ahi, hacker swift, mini nova, SOAS, and a micro dammit inside a 115 linear inch box to meet the airline requirement. Looking forward to flying the swift and seeing if I can get that SOAS airborne (seems to pitch down).
See you guys soonish

Did you get to maiden the SOAS? I finally got to maiden mine on Sunday morning when it was a slower moment. Flew fantastic. Some people have had trouble with the CG but mine was perfect per the plans. Couldn’t be happier with it. 🤙🏽
