Camp n Fly 2024 May 4-5th!

Was chatting with Anton (AB models) last night/this morning just confirming the CG on that Yellow hawk that @Hawaii Sloper got from @Red . Just sharing this as i thought it was funny as here i am an American who only uses metric (mm/grams) when doing models and every time i have talked to him (southafrica/germany) about measurements its always been in inches.

Same translation form Polish! ๐Ÿ™ƒ How about our @jure ?

born metric , worked metric all the way in the USA
measuring tape or yardstick is called "metar" , same as the unit it measures
we also have "mjerilo" and "ravnalo"

Time to get this down off the shelf and get it ready. I have 3x 500g blocks of lead i can add this time. Shouldnt be so light like it was in 2021.

Question: If the wind condition is too light (like early morning) and/or off-shore; can we fly electric powered gliders?

No power is allowed at Sunset beach. Early morning some will fly DLG's when the on-shore breeze starts...

DLG's and anything you can hand toss out, even my little PUG twisty are nice in the morning on that hill. Toss it out fly a half circle or so, try and hand catch it. repeat.
Sometimes it will seem totally dead and we will walk back to camp and a few minutes later we look back and some dlg is up in the clouds.

Thanks for the replies. No powered planes allowed. I'll bring my DLG and a wing to toss so I can do some early morning flights.

I finished up the re-radio of this 100โ€ Ridge Runner built in 1975. The plan is to fly it a bit in memory of a late friend, and then hang it up in my yet to be built aviation themed bar.

On to the next project! The days are dwindling.

Red,
Are you making the bar portable, so you can bring it to Sunset, Los Banos and the like?
Nope, you'll have to come visit. It's in my back yard. Its just a shell now, but welcome to "Inner 6". That's a pylon/slang double entendre. Plumbing and electrical up next. I'm also looking for 120 sq. ft. of Marston Matting for the floor if you know of anyone who has any.

That's cool! I'm guessing 10' x 12' is the biggest you could build with no permit?
That's a pretty good size space.
