Camp n Fly 2022!!!

Yeah not sure when Stu is showing up but if he does i imagine we will try and walk off the park property and get a nice fpv flight on the beach just north of the entrance to the park. Ill talk to the rangers first, i dont want to irritate them. Ill be totally open with them about what we are doing and wanting to fly outside the park, If they are not cool with it we can find somewhere else to do it. Im not a pusher, I wont piss them off.

I would really like to come and try this out with you guys? I have always wanted one, but never got around to setting one up, and I am not too good with the electronics portion of it. Ill bring my old FPV shark thing and the plane I have for it, just it doesnt have a motor yet.

Just up the coast near Calfee Design in this image is a dirt strip airport. There is a nice big shade tree there and another slope you can fly.

It is just one field up the beach from Sunset. I think Gabe can get us access to this site if needed and can be used for extra parking. I just need to confirm with him if we feel the need to use this space. It is a gated community so cars should be good and safe there. It is a pretty cool site all on it's own. It is owned by a church that does not like people to do work on Saturdays.

I have walked that way plenty of times to go fishing. You can access the farmland right form the parking lot and walk down that dirt road.

Of course @Diceman we always have down time in the mornings before the wind. Be a nice walk if nothing else.

@Wayne I never checked in the previous years, but do you guys bring any parts for sale in case anybody needs anything during the event?

In the past we have tried to bring tools and some spare parts, but not a lot. Typically some servos and batteries and servo extensions as we always seem to have some need for those. I bring my tool box that has a fair amount of odds and ends, and we bring loads of glue and other repair items. Since it looks like we are tenting this year, we may cut down some.

@Wayne @Chris @Jarron One of my favorite memories from last year was all of us building stuff in the morning at your campsite. Working on that blue trash wing. You guys bringing any "interesting" projects this year?

We have some interesting stuff, but hope we will have most of it built by then. Will see what we can scrounge up. Jarron's crazy plane is getting expensive, but should be pretty cool.

Im sure there will be something for us to play with... Hopefully the wind cooperates this year and we will not have the time for "construction".

I still make them on occasion. I'd really like to find someone to take over production. I like designing and prototyping, making kits doesn't do it for me any more lol. That being said I could bring some to Sunset if there was interest.

@thenated0g - You should take over Red's kits before I do.. Seriously, if Nate doesn't want to do the production, I'll do it here at Aloft. We will need to buy the cutter, but imagine we can have that here and running in a month.

I would provide any support I can. I’m sure we can work a deal that’s good for you. I’ve had my fun with these kits and would love to move on to other things. People really seem to like them, and with your market visibility far, far surpassing mine, I think they’d do really well. You’d be surprised if I told you how many I’ve sold just on RCG.
