Bye bye PayPal

Did it change? Last I used it I had to get to my bank's page and send a payment through Zelle to Aloft.

well yeah i have to login to chase, but now since i have sent one to him before it has him listed right there for me to click on, i dont have to fill out all his info and find him.

For me I can do it from my phone via my banking app. But can also use their web site.

Now that we offer a discount we have a lot more people using it. I'll probably do a little newsletter article on it.

Good stuff Wayne, my credit union does not use Zelle, but I downloaded the Zelle app and will use them next time! Had no idea bout them greedy bastards!

I made my first purchase with Zelle over the holiday. Had to go through the setup with my bank, but it was somewhat painless. The problem for me is that my bank shows that the payment processed on Monday, but Aloft still hasn't received it. I was under the assumption that it was as fast as PayPal. Not sure it's really worth the small discount for the substantial delay.

I suspect the bank has made an error as I don't think we have the payment yet. An error in the email address will keep it from going through. You may need to talk with your bank and see what they have done. :(

As for speed, one of our local customers that stops by for the odd item only pays using Zelle. He sends via his phone, and a few seconds later we get our confirm receipt of the payment. It is FAST.

It is not for everyone, but we are finding several regular customers now use Zelle as their preferred payment method.

There could be an error, but it seems at least the it's going to you guys when it goes.

According to my bank, the transaction will occur tomorrow. Apparently I sent the money too quickly after registering. As such, the "instant transaction" feature was not yet enabled.

Ok - Sorry for the troubles. We have not heard any reports like this prior. We are currently getting about four Zelles a day on average. About the same amount of transactions that go through Amazon for us. That is a good start honestly. I think it took the Amazon option about a year to get to this level.

So I have a Zelle Account - how do I add Aloft to my contacts - I don't see a phone number anywhere? And is there a Zelle option at checkout?

Yes, that is correct. Just select the Zelle checkout option and it gives you the email address to send Zelle payment too.

I have to say that Zelle has worked out pretty well. The only issue is when we need to issue a refund, that is a bit more work for us. If you are comfortable with Zelle it works well. If not, no worries, we have other options.

Wow, I am using PayPal very often and didn't know about that, I also prefer to use banks as much as possible, I will check out Amazon Pay. Thanks for the advice!

Yes Amazon Pay is the way to go, in fact I almost buy a product from amain hobbies, but until now, considering that Aloft accept Amazon, then I will use Amazon Pay

You are both right... IMHO.

If it was easy for me to charge a different processing fee based on my processing fees I would. But it would require a bunch of special coding.

The reality is that Paypal when paid via ACH payment should be very low costs for Paypal, and it is, yet they charge me a lot for it. More than if it was a credit card. As I recall paypal used to charge far less for ACH payments. They had a competitor doing just that, what did Paypal do? They bought them and raised the rates.

I am rather excited as it looks like Paypal may have a major competitor in the near future coming from Europe. They are expensing their low cost services to include e-commerce. If they do, I will add them ASAP. Their fee structure is very low.

When it comes to credit cards - what a mess! Why do retailers get stuck holding the bill for the Credit Card companies failed "security". Lets face it, there is no security on these cards. It is a SAD joke. I pay a bit less in fees for credit cards than Paypal, but then I have to pass the transaction to another company that will research the transaction and tell me if it is safe for me to ship or not. That comes with a high price. Guess what, they still make mistakes and it costs me a lot of time and trouble. What a mess!

I really don't understand why no one cares if someone is trying to rob me on the internet. Cops, FBI, etc no one cares. We have caught people in the on going act of credit fraud and no agency cares at all. In the end I get stuck with the bill and the credit card companies actually get richer off of the fraud! Class action lawsuit anyone?
Wayne, just tried to order an rc product because you did not have it.

Came to the PayPal icon, wrote a brief note to vendor stating it will be a cold day in hell I ever use PayPal.

Have had 3 shipping fraud cases, Amazon, eBay, and PayPal.

Amazon and ebay stepped up, but after 6 month PayPal said sionara. As the country song said, thank God and greyhound your gone.
