Hey Keith. We are talking to NCS about the limited wingspan. Nobody seems to be able to find a reason why its a safety concern.I fully intend to be there! The last time I participated in the ISR at Davenport was sometime in the early 90’s (1992 maybe?). If I remember correctly, it was dominated by Joe Wurts and Daryl Perkins flying their F3B Eagles. I was too poor to put up anything competitive, but it was a blast to be there and I learned a lot. I love the long course at Davenport. I just hope that there won’t be any restrictions on wingspan because I want to be able to race something at least a little over 3m. At 68, my eyes aren’t what they used to be and the bigger span definitely makes it easier to see!

Doc.
We are on it, Keith.I had hoped I could fly my 4m Alpenbrise. I also have another older moldie with a 3.7m span I want to use as a backup. I have a 3m Evoa I can fly, as well as a Predator III, but I’d definitely prefer the larger span models.
New pilots with good skills are welcome to compete, but if you are still gaining experience it is best to come and watch. Racing these planes is a high skill requirement. I guarantee it is a great invest of your time, you will learn a ton just from watching the pros go at it. Come on down and we will all have a great time!
Hey! I've seen one of those around. Perhaps we can have our own heat.I had hoped I could fly my 4m Alpenbrise. I also have another older moldie with a 3.7m span I want to use as a backup. I have a 3m Evoa I can fly, as well as a Predator III, but I’d definitely prefer the larger span models.

I’ve managed to get my hands on a couple of older 3m F3F types, so I’ll probably just race those. Not really keen to risk my new Alpenbrise, but you never know…4 meter span is fine, but watch the upper weight limit.
