Bind Archer SR6 from X10S

I am trying to bind the SR6 from an X10S with the new ISRM board. I can bind older receivers in ACCST mode D16 with no problem.
I am trying to follow these instructions (which I believe are from a TR9 but which should work). My notes after each step.

1. Put the transmitter/transmitter module into [Reg] status
1.1 For Taranis X-Lite Pro as an example, turn on the transmitter, go to the MENU-MODEL SETUP-PAGE 2,choose Internal or External RF, and select [Reg].

I go to module and to the binding section. MODE ISRM Access
Channel range 1-16

2. Connect the battery to the receiver while holding the button on the receiver. The RED LED and GREEN LED on the receiver will be on, indicating into the [Reg] status. Select [ENTER] on the transmitter, The RED LED and GREEN LED on the receiver will flash, and the transmitter displays [Registration ok].

Whoever thought putting the bind button behind a stiff clear window must have had tremendous finger strength. If I push it hard enough I get a steady red light, and maybe a dim green light but no flashing lights. The screen displays a Reg Number, a UID of 0 and identifies the device as S6R. The transmitter continues to beep and there is no indication of successful registration. The screen displays choices of Enter or RTN. RTN terminates the process.

3. Turn off the receiver.

I disconnect the battery

4. Move the cursor to select the receiver 1 [Bind].
5. Connect the battery to the receiver, the GREEN LED will flash, indicating into the [Bind] status. Select the RX, the GREEN will keep lit, and the transmitter displays [Bind successful].

Unsurprisingly, no lights flash and the radio continues to beep until stopped.

6. The transmitter exit [Bind], GREEN LED will keep lit, RED LED will be off, indicating Working normally.

I wish

If the incorrect firmware is on the receiver it will do this, but not give control. Flash the radios IXJT to the latest, and flash the receivers firmware to its latest. Then it will work properly.

Not true exactly. I wasn't completely clear. I am trying to bind an ARCHER SR6 in ACCESS mode and everything is flashed correctly. Other than the different behavior of the lights which I can't explain, my issue was:

On the registration entry screen there are two choices at the bottom [ENTER] [RTN]. Now on other screens on the X10S when those appear, you can just press the ENTER or RETURN button, but not this one. On this screen you have to use the scroll wheel to move the "cursor" to [ENTER] and then push the button. Once you do that you get the "RECOGNIZED" screen and everything goes normally from there.

Another question though is how would you flash the receiver on the X10S. Obviously you would have to use a cable. In the past I made a special cable to connect from 3 pins in the module bay to the s. port. Is it the same for an Archer receiver as the port is different.

Does your X10S have the smart port pins in the back under the rubber door? If so, just use that. If not, you will have to modify a male to male cable to use the module bay pins. Yes, it would be the same as in the past. The Archer receiver should have come with the correct cable to use Unless you need to use the module bay. Then I just use a servo extension that I modified.

Yes it does. I finally got the cable to work. It really took a tremendous amount of pressure to get it to seat in the receiver. But once I did that and flashed the firmware, I could also connect the same cable from my FLVSS voltage sensor to the receiver and get battery cell voltages. I am happy now. Thanks.
