I have recently purchased the Bigaole stab unit and all appears to be fine except the RTH function. Again the normal stabilize mode works fine but when I place it in the RTH mode the aircraft starts it's normal bank to return home but then drops altitude. It does not maintain altitude and drops rapidly. I believe I have set everything up correctly, if anyone has any ideas, suggestions or guidance it would be much appreciated.
BTW, the unit is in a Bixler 3 aircraft.
Thanks

I don't have the plane or the Bigaole stabilizer, but did you upset your "CG" when you
installed it in your plane?

The manual is a bit vague, is there a set altitude the system is to return to? (say, around 120 metres / 400 feet).

Were you above the maximum allowable altitude?, and, the system was reducing the altitude to the set RTH altitude when RTH was activated? Maybe Aloft Wayne can elaborate on what the RTH altitude is.

I've been thinking of getting the Bigaole 6G-AP Flight Stabilizer

Yes, I recall they have a set altitude (AGL) they will maintain during the RTH but I do not recall what that level is. I want to guess 200-300 feet...?

I visited a thread on RCG, 100 and something pages on this and alike systems, the agreed opinion is it will return home at the altitude it is in at the time of RTH activation be that by switch or fail safe. I would like to believe it has a pre-programmed safety altitude for RTH like the multi-rotor camera platforms have.
