Well, I'd suggest taking a quick look at the servos you are going to be feeding and then figuring out how many amps each is capable of consuming. On large planes, even just sitting on the ground a servo can use a good bit of power just holding up a heavy flight control.

For testing you can plug in a test battery and run your gear up and see how many amps it consumes when moving the servos around (Even better if done connected to the flight surfaces) and see how many amps that is. Then I would double that and base my battery selection on a battery pack that can feed that many amps for the amount of time I expect I would have that plane's radio system powered up for an outing. Once that is figured out, buy 2 batteries that size as you have redundant batteries on this receiver. That should be good and safe.

Hope that makes sense..

(Some companies will publish the amp ratings for their servos at stall, but many do not. Ideally we should not be pushing our servos into a stall condition. So I prefer to measure the amp draw on a fully setup plane and then double that, and then double that again via the second battery pack.)

Carrying too much battery has little down side, carrying too little has a very bad down side.

Yup..also thinking about weight. This particular bird, thanks to tail retract, elevator servos mounted in stab roots has a tendency to be tail heavy.
One reason I chose the particular engine I did was to help balance that.
Zenoahs are notoriously heavy and the couple if others that used that combo had to still add 4 to 6 oz ballast to the nose.

Batteries are up front so, in this case, I think, maybe...just maybe..it a time to just max it and see. Might keep me from giving her a lead nose. 5000 MAH ordered :)

If it's too much, I have another gizmo that can use it.
