Aufwind Magazine first English edition:

Review: Aufwind English.

Hi, glider guiders. The editors have listened to us, and the first historical English January/February edition of Aufwind magazine is out.

Mine took a while to arrive, as I live in “Darkest Taiwan”! Obviously, this is not the magazine’s fault but the super-slow and super-expensive postage we must live with today. Bah! Humbug! But when it finally arrived, I have to say I was very impressed.

As those of you who subscribe will have seen, I have my own column in the magazine, “Gliding and Design.” This is also a new departure, but I’ll leave you to comment on that.

OK, so let’s take a look inside the book: Holy moly! One hundred pages with twenty-one separate features? It’s huge! Here is a list of the contents:
  • The ‘Telemaster 120’ from Pichler
  • F5K model ‘Kestrel’ from OA-Composites/Lindinger
  • Young athletes: Vyara Atanasova from Bulgaria
  • CHA servos put to the test: DS115, HV120, HV150
  • ‘Swift 3.34’ from PS-Models with folding impeller
  • EMS models at Grupp-Modellbau
  • The ‘Skyscraper’ from D-Power
  • ‘Compass’ from NAN-Models
  • Gliding & Design: What we can learn from birds - Part 1
  • GPS-Scene 1/2025: Visiting Gaimersheim
  • F3G-Scene: Review 2024, outlook 2025
  • The “Smart Wing” from Ideecon
  • The “Jeti DS-24 II” from Hacker Motor
  • Pictorial: ‘Pace’ meeting at the Tannenalm
  • Pictorial: Hang-gliding at Jamnik, Slovenia
  • The ‘AN-66’ from Chocofly
  • The Glider Expo in Hülben (Germany)
  • 20 years of Schambeck
  • IDS-/LDS-linkages from Schambeck
  • A preview of the trade fairs & events in 2025
  • That was the Friedrichshafen trade fair
Look at this: Model reviews, shows, articles, pictorials, and much more.

The pictures are bright and vivid, the text is well written and informative, and with such a large and varied content, there seems to be something for everyone interested in our wonderful hobby. At twelve euros per issue or sixty-nine Euros per six issues, I have to say it’s money well spent for the glider fan.

So, guys, if your lovely wife or girlfriend asks you what you want for Christmas – tell her to give you an Aufwind subscription – you will not be sorry.

Awesome. I'll need to update my subscription. It is a magazine well worth the price! Super nice guy runs the whole thing too. He truly loves his job and it shows in the magazines quality.
