Thanks for the reply, I'll try using firmware V1. 0.10 & see how it goes.Hi Laz
In fact there are scripts on Github which are made for EdgeTx to run on Horus style radios only (originally these Ethos scripts were transferred to EdgeTx).
Cause I do own only black and white LCD radios with OpenTx I've modified these scripts to run on my radios. (Taranis x9D2019, x9liteS and QX7)
I've used them with an SR6mini, and an Sr8 Archer plus.
If you want to give them a try just let me know. (you will find that especially the selftest is much easier)
As an alternative you can downgrade the firmware of your receiver to V1.0.10 and use the older scripts (don't use V.1.0.11 this would already require the V3 Lua scripts)
This does also work. I've done that before I altered the scripts.
Or you can find someone with an Ethos radio who does the setup for you.
Regards Alois
PS: there's also the possibility to run them on companion Simulator for tests if you want to see how they work.
Thank you Alois. I ran firmware Ver 1.0.10 it all worked fine. I'm fitting the SR6mini in a EDF Habu 50 it's pushed for space, and I wanted the auto level in case I got into trouble. That's ok.
One hint, I do not know what plane you intend to use it with.
I tried to stabilize an indoor plane with the SR6mini. The problem is, that running the motor the plane as such is twisting and rattling, to much so the stabilizer let the plane do a lot of erratic movements.
It was not flyable. (Didn't really matter because I bought the Stabi function just out of curiosity.)
But now the newest software V3.0.3 has a filter in it against motor vibrations and that works great for my indoor plane (it's the first time it is flyable with the stabi/autolevel function.)
So if you encounter the same experience let me know and I will send you the scripts.
Regards Alois
Thank you, Alois! Updating my TX with your patched FW did the trick.Hello
Concerning the option menu: When OpenTx 2.3.15 was released Archer plus receivers didn't exist yet. So the firmware does not recognize them. (The names of the receivers are missing in the name table).
There are two possible solution:
a) you can use EgdeTX instead of OpenTx
b) (the easy way) - you can use the "special files of MikeB". This is simple OpenTX 2.3.15 new compiled with the names added (I and many others use this since 2023)
(it's only English language and without "mixer scripts" but all other scripts do run normally)
Thanks - I'll look into this if I decide to set up stab with the new FW. I've been using the older version no problem until trying to set up these new servos.Yust a hint:
I also saw that you use Firmware V3.0.1
This is not the latest version for the SR6 mini.
Frsky has changed the way to distribute the firmware.
You have to install Ethos-Suite on your PC (even if you do not use ETHOS).
You can then download a newer version via Ethos-Suite - V.3.0.3
I've done so and the result was a great improvement because V3.0.3 has added a filter to reduce the influence of motor vibration on the stab-functions.
V3.0.3 is the first version that has no erratic movements on my indoor flyer and makes it really flyable with stab-functions.
In case you have problems finding the V3.0.3 firmware for the receiver, I've attached this firmware V3.0.3. for Archer Plus SR6miniThanks - I'll look into this if I decide to set up stab with the new FW. I've been using the older version no problem until trying to set up these new servos.
Thanks again - I downloaded a file from your link above (opentx-x9D2019-2-3-15a-choice-lua.bin) which appears to be working fine! And this would be the OpenTx 2.3.15 firmware for x9d2019
In case you have problems finding the V3.0.3 firmware for the receiver, I've attached this firmware V3.0.3. for Archer Plus SR6mini
Flashed and configured, so far so good. Alois, you're awesome!I would like to warn you concerning your stab - firmware.
If you really run this combination - OpenTX 2.3.15, ISRM-X_2.1.10, SR6Mini_3.0.1, Running on a Taranis X9D+ SE 2019
and you use the stabi Lua scripts V2... then the stabi will not work proper.
Have a look into the description of the Ethos firmware - V3.... does require new lua scripts.
V2.. scripts do seem to run. There will be no error messages but some of the settings you make will not be stored. Stabi will not work correct.
You have three options; read the start of this tread
You can try the attached lua script: they should work on V3.0.x Stab firmware (read the readme file carefully).
These are originally Ethos script modified by someone to run on EdgeTX color display radios.
I modified them to run also on OpenTx and also on black/white display radios (my radios: x9D, x9lite, QX7)
You can test the scripts in Companion - the scripts will simulate a SR10 receiver.
