antenna??

mike

New User
I just broke the exposed end of my receiver antenna can i strip the same length off on the same wire?
thanks mike

It is my understanding that would modify the reception wavelength.

You can, but it will not be as good as the stock antenna, but pretty close to the same.

If the exposed length is the same the selectivity performance of the antenna will be the same. Now what will change is the standing wave in the transmission line. This WILL mean that the sensitivity will be less than with new undamaged antenna.

If you are staying close in you might get away with the repair. But if going out any distance I'd recommend against it because of the potential loss of sensitivity.

The short is get some replacement antennae. These are cheap insurance!

Is it save to say that exposed end on 2.4 receiver are all the same? cheap insurance sound like the best bet.
thanks all mike
