I have a X4R that has lost both it's antennas, cut off by the prop in a hard landing, the receiver itself is untouched. I wish to replace the antennas but, which type?
My question is, will going to the Dipole antennas be better for reception/range or, should I carry on with the standard whisker antennas?
Or should I run one of each?.
In my early 2.4gig days I used the Turnigy 9X (Flysky) gear, all the receivers had the Dipole antennas, I never had range issues, I do get the odd low RSSI warning with my Taranis. I don't fly FPV, 90 percent of my flying is within 250 metres but for glider comp days. My gliders use RX4R and RX6R receivers and have never had any issues.
