Another WingHelper Build - "Sleek Twin"

Here's this year's build. The Sleek Twin. An electric twin with a 58 inch wingspan and a length of 55 inches. All up weight with a 4S 4000 mAh Lipo came in at 4 lbs 13 oz. This leads to a cubic wing loading of 9.7 which is in the sports model area. so hopefully it will fly well. I'm not sure when the maiden will be, we just received another 3 or 4 inches of snow yesterday. :(

I like to use rib combs for the shear webs and for my wing joiners. They help keep everything straight. I've attached my wing design file in the zip file below. If anyone wants to see how I did anything.

Agreed - if she flies as good as she looks, you should be VERY happy.

Thanks for sharing.

Hey Steve,
I like the overall look, but the long nose length jar's my senses a bit.
To me it needs to be more of a Grumman F5 length. Great build even so!!

Yes, it's the opposite of that. I'm glad I made it that long because it looks like the battery needs to be all the way forward to balance correctly. At least according to the online CG calculators, it needs to be all the way forward. Actual flying is always the best judge though.

If it looks right....

It sure as hell looks right! Nice job!

You know...add a bit of bending, curving, distortion and you get a Westland Whirlwind..

Doc..
