Angle Wing Designs Dune Freak

I built this Dune Freak model this summer. I thought it was an interesting design when I saw the videos about it.

I liked the build. It had nice detail adding carbon strips to the spars. It made it really strong. I covered the model with solar film and doculam. The doculam is painted on glue side. I dusted the frame on the bottom in black to give some contrast against the white.

It flies well. I’m still tuning the CG. It’s still a little aft. I’ve flown it at kite hill and off an upstart. It goes up the upstart really well.

Rudder & elevator?

Yes just rudder and central elevator. It’s pretty maneuverable but has a specific speed range does not like going to fast.

Was gonna try it at Kite Hill today but there was no lift.

Here is a video by my friend at fair view. This flight was pretty short. I did another flight and actually caught a few thermals. And flew for about 7 min
