Aeroic Alpenbrise 4M build

The problem with Torrey is everything looks slow there. LOL

All of Hammonds planes fly really well IMHO.As I have said, my all time favorite is the Forza, but that is probably just because I have yet to fly an Alpenbrise. :)
You'll get a rip at Sunset if not before. Prepare to fall in love. Bigger flies better is definitely true in this case. At least no jellyfish to dodge there lol

Wow what a great day at Torrey! There was a swap meet in the morning while we waited for the wind to come up. It was blowing 8-10mph around noon and by the time I tossed it had climbed to about 15mph. What a fantastic flying plane! I really can't say enough nice things about it. It's very honest and easy to fly, yet when pushed its very aerobatic and surprisingly fast. It has amazing energy retention and feels super solid. I need to move the CG back a little and tweak the program slightly for better roll. The landing manners are among the best I've seen.

Hell yeah, Red! My home turf! Also looks like the paragliders weren't loitering in the bowl. That's OUR turf.

Hope I see this thing in person one day. Also, I totally dug the surf tunes but man, I really wanted to hear the whistle. How was the music?

It whistles nice! Didn't come through great on the video (wind noise) otherwise I would have included it for sure.

Great video Red, pity you only had one flight until the wind went somewhere else!

Next time...with ballast!

Cheers,

Doc.

AWESOME!!! I cant wait to see it fly in person!

Nice flying Red. That semi hammerhead maneuver told me everything I wanted to know about the plane. The lack of wing yaw as it started to descend before picking up speed, showed proper vertical area for a high aspect ratio wing.

@Red Obviously you missed the one jelly fish that did a touch and go in the LZ railing as we were flying last year!:eek:

BTW....even though I've mentioned it before, it bears repeating. ANYONE is welcome to fly the Alpenbrise or any other of my Aeroic planes if you see me on the slope. I will happily pass the Tx or if you are too nervous, I have a buddy box set up. I can't think of a better way to let folks judge the performance for themselves.

I am DEFINITELY taking you up on that if the chance arises!!!:)

Go for it Jake - Red is not only our test pilot - he's also our USA demonstrator - He knows the how and why of the models and he'll be glad to answer any questions and let you have a stir on the sticks - and that goes for anyone who is interested.

Cheers,

Doc..
